Personal Refrigeration Ltd is an independent company which was established in 1976.  The company was formed to fulfil a demand for energy efficient refrigeration systems within the brewing and food processing industries.

The company premises consists of a well equipped workshop, offices and stores facility staffed by a competent skilled workforce.  We encourage self development and endorse a programme of continuous training for all members of staff.  All our engineers are fully qualified, registered with A.C.R.I.B. and have also completed C & G refrigerant handling courses to comply with environmental legislation.

In response to our ever evolving market Personal Refrigeration decided to embark upon the research, design and manufacture of a product that was cost effective and highly energy efficient.  It also had to have a degree of flexibility in its production and control strategy to enable us to integrate it into the variety of applications we were encountering.

Due to the demand of bespoke packages the P.R. Maximiser Process System was developed.
Since the inaugural production in 1994 which was an ammonia packaged air cooled water chiller designed and installed at Joseph Holts Brewery in Manchester.  Many systems have been installed and still continue to operate successfully and efficiently on our clients premises.

Our “Maxi Guard” service and maintenance plan can be tailored to suit the requirements of any customer.  The maintenance programme was developed to provide a complete after sales service.  In some cases extended warranties can be offered on equipment providing maintenance schedules and inspections are adhered to.

We also use standard products from the range of many manufacturers and in the process have established a very strong relationship with Airedale UK who are a major player in the British manufacture of chilled water and close control systems.  We have been selected as approved Airedale installers and have worked in conjunction with them on various major blue chip projects. Our most recent involvement has been in the government aviation industry and also a fermenting cooling process in two regional breweries.

In the light of the current trend of surging energy prices, Personal Refrigeration Ltd offers its clients an energy assessment of refrigeration equipment on their sites.  Proposals are then presented to the client outlining the savings that can be made and more importantly, how to realise these savings.  Clients are finding this service invaluable as they look to reduce their carbon footprints and make long term energy savings.

The European Union F Gas Regulation No 8422006 which became law on the 4/7/2006 and was enforced on the 4/7/2007 now carries heavy penalties for persistent offenders.  This has been a major challenge for the industry, making customers aware of their responsibilities to comply with the law.  The mandatory regulations aim to minimise emissions which contribute to global warming and environmental pollution.  In response to the regulations Personal Refrigeration Ltd have designed and implemented a containment programme which records and monitors the refrigerant from delivery through its life cycle to final destruction and incineration.
